The Dallas Leadership Board
Welcome and thanks for considering our Dallas Leadership Board. It’s not for everyone. Is it for you?
How are you investing in yourself? You are arguably your most important asset. Many leaders, even with strong teams, find it is still lonely at the top. Do you have a group of other business leaders that can help you with that issue that’s keeping you up at night?
Image a group of 12 to 16 leaders who meet every month to work to help each other be successful, discuss with world-class speakers best practices and innovative solutions, and hold each other accountable to take needed action.
The Dallas Leadership Board is by invitation-only. You must be nominated by a current member or by a member of our trusted network of service companies, or you will go through a process to see if the group is right for you and you are right for the group.
Our leaders are not willing to settle for the status quo. It takes time, commitment, and the ability to be accountable to yourself and to your fellow members. And, it works. Our leaders’ companies grow 2 to 3 times faster than their competitors and build cultures that have fun and make money. The Fall 2023 group is focused on high-growth companies.
Your first step after a short call with me will be to talk to one of our members and discuss what being on one of our boards has meant to him or her.
LAUNCHING IN FALL 2021!
FAQ’s
This is a mutual journey. During the vetting process, you will have the chance to ask the hard questions about your investments in time and dollars and how to measure your ROI. Likewise, we will want to know not just what you do, but who you are and how you can contribute to your peers around the table.
What size and types of companies are on the Dallas Leadership Board?
No hard and fast rules, but pre-revenue companies are generally not a fit. Most of the members of the board will be growing significantly year over year. No “lifestyle” companies. We pride ourselves on a strong mix of product and service businesses. We are currently looking for leaders of technology companies, manufacturing and distribution companies, real estate and development, financial services, construction, and transportation companies. You will be surrounded by companies that have strong leadership teams and from 20-1000 employees from privately-held, for-profit and not-for-profits organizations.
I am the VP of Sales. Can I join the Board?
Unfortunately, not the Leadership Board. We do have groups and other programs for leaders like yourself.
We are not running EOS or one of the other systems you mentioned. Can I be on the Board?
If you are “winging it,” probably not. The Leadership Board believes that structure matters. Structure equals weekly effective team meetings, accountable yearly/quarterly goals, clear scorecards, and focus on core values and mission. There are many strong frameworks we did not mention in the video, like the 4 Dimensions of Execution, Rockefeller Habits, systems from Patrick Lencioni or Jim Collins. All would be a fit for members of the Board. Even if you have your own framework, you might qualify to be on the Board.
How do I measure the value of being on the Dallas Leadership Board?
That is the best question of all. And one that you ultimately must answer for yourself and your company. Be prepared to discuss during the interview process your biggest challenges and greatest opportunities. What have your mistakes cost you? What is the cost of doing nothing? What difference you could make if you succeed? What has been the impact of running your business or you and your family?
What’s next?
Let’s start with a short call to see if it even makes sense to take the next step. If so, we will sit down and decide if the Dallas Leadership Board is right for you and if you are right for the Dallas Leadership Board.
